This Carhartt bib overall clad, short fella will be grown before we know it!
He is watching the big boys work and play and learning so much everyday.. even some things we’d rather he not learn! Who determines the roads he will choose, the gifts he will have and the life he will lead? I do have that answer! Our heavenly Father has plans for this young man! Sit back, watch and enjoy as he learns something new everyday! I got a big chuckle recently when he learned the hard way WHY we don’t throw the hose down … as the water dripped off his nose.. I held back a huge laugh and explained once again this little lesson. If only life was as easy to explain!
Carhartt Clothing, a manufacturer of bib overalls and men’s work clothes has done it again! The ladies can’t complain about this new shade. Raspberry jackets and vests, made with same durable construction as all of their products but oh so pretty in pink…. raspberry pink to be exact. We girls have always loved Carhartt products too, but never have we had such a pretty color to choose from. This jacket and vest are lined with sherpa and we even have cute knit hats to go with them. What fun…. It ALMOST …… Almost …. makes me want cold weather…..NOT!!!
Here’s a vision… You are hungry for apple pie… Do you choose the one in a white box with generic looking labelling one or do you choose the one in the kraft brown box with colorful labelling and a picture of an apple tree… I would guess.. and even bet… that even though the pies may be exactly the same, that most will choose the one that looks old fashioned , an apple pie, just like Grandma used to make!
Presentation is everything! Marketing is huge! We love restaurants, like Cracker Barrel , that take us back a few years… to a quieter time. When we imagine that people didn’t have problems!! Families got up at sunrise and worked only during the daylight hours!!
Wake UP! Shift work is commonplace and we live in a busy world. But, We still love the county feel! Hammel’s Carhartt Clothing shop is all about country appeal. So if you are ever in Pleasant Valley WV and you want to visit a truly historic General Store, stop by! Get a lollipop out of the old hanging scale and put your wrapper in the mason jar that sits on the antique candy case! Enjoy the atmosphere and if the owner isn’t too busy, she will share a story or three!
If your job requires you to function outdoors regardless of the weather, then chances are you have or need a rain suit. I recently realized that all rain gear is not created equal. The rubbery yellow coat that you wore as a child, will not do! Just dress yourself in a water proof , air tight rubber coat and try to work… you will quickly see how wet you get from the inside out!! The non- breathable rubbery coat will make you sweat and defeat the whole purpose.
I found that my waterproof , breathable, mesh lined rain coat from Carhartt is great! Last fall, I wore a heavy sweatshirt under my coat and stayed dry and warm at a football game on a 35 degree day sitting on metal bleachers in the pouring rain! It made me a believer in Carhartt!
The question is not whether you should get a set of Carhartt bibs to work in… the Question is… what Style?? Bibs are such a popular choice among workers who already know the benefits of this garment. If you have never tried out bib overalls, you don’t know how comfortable they are and for the summer heat, you can’t beat unlined bib overalls for work or play.
The bib overall has a long history and the style has remained virtually unchanged. Many years ago bib overalls were viewed as being worn by the poor. Today however, in my opinion, bib overalls are seen as comfortable, practical, carefree garment and that ..Works for me!
Hamilton Carhartt, the founder of Carhartt clothing, was born in 1881 and at the age of 26 was married . Three years later he established a wholesale furnishings business under the name Hamilton Carhartt & Co. Five years later he converted the operation into clothing manufacturing. At age 82, after decades of hard work and success, and 56 years of marriage, Hamilton Carhartt and his wife died together in a car accident. His son, Wylie Carhartt continued company operations after the deaths of his parents and after 22 years was succeeded in 1959 as head of the company by his son-in-law, Robert C. Valade. In 1998,upon the passing of Robert C., Mark Valade continued in his fathers footsteps and continues to run the company today.
Hamiltons grand-daughter, wife to Robert Valade, Gretchen Valade has given a great amount of her wealth to others. Fun fact… Gretchen loves Jazz music and has been, instrumental, pardon the pun, in keeping it alive in Chicago IL.
