There is no margin for error when you are working in this highly hazardous occupation.  Every lineman will tell you that focus and courage is key to getting your job done and that following all the precautions is never an option.

Carhartt Flame-Resistant Clothing was designed for this job and various others. Carhartt is well know for it’s durability and if you have to invest in FRC’s and want them to last, the choice is obvious.

In the last few years many companies have seen the importance of hi visibility clothing in almost every job situation.Over 120 years of experience is backing Carhartts reputation of knowing how to make a quality garment.

Known mostly for quality insulated bibs, Carhartt has an complete line of hi vis and FR clothing. Brite lime seems to be the preferred color these days and I feel that it is just because it is a change from hunters orange.

Gear to survive your shift

The goal is not just to survive your shift in extreme cold, but to not suffer the agony of being chilled to the bone for hours. Carhartt can be an important factor if you work out in the winter weather.

Carhartt insulated bibs come in a variety of linings and outer shells to accommodate a variety of needs. Basic duck bibs with quilted lining is the most commonly requested style of bib, and when you allow room for layering you keep your options open to add extra thermals for the colder days. Extreme wear is also a great option. Cordura outer shell with arctic lining is the warmest Carhartt bibs offered.

Insulated bibsby Carhartt are the number one seller and have been for some  time. They cannot be beat on durability and are available in a variety of washes and weights. Several companies have offered bibs that look like Carhartt at a reduced price but in the long run, Carhartt is your best investment.

Master Cloth is a term used in the early years by the company to promote the heavy duck material used to get the durability that we have come to love and expect.

The fall season brings on hunting season, Thanksgiving and harvest time. Our traditions are as rich as the foods we feast on and it rolls right on into the Christmas season. Filled with wonderful traditions as well as tasty meals and beautiful decorations.

This time of year means increased sales for my retail shop as the weather gets colder, the workers need gear… as hunting season comes in the hunters need hunting gear and as  people make their gift lists, Carhartt is often a requested item.  Carhartt is well know for their bib overalls but they make many other items.

Appreciation

Farming is hard work, year round, 24/7 and it doesn’t pay big money, but when you really get to the heart of a farmer you see the love and heart of his labor. As seen here a young man is taking in a special moment with a mother cow and her twin calves. I would love to be him, how precious.

Carhartt clothing is a well know clothing line to farmers. It doesn’t start and end with just insulated overalls though. Carhartt makes womens, and childrens clothing also. Belts, wallets and socks and boots. All great quality at a fair price.

Hamilton Carhartt

After all these years I have yet to see a picture of the main man, the founder of Carhartt clothing… Hamilton Carhartt in a pair of his signature bibs. I will have to dig deeper still. I refuse to believe that Hamilton was not a mans man who knew how to work hard and get dirty… just like the millions of customers who buy the bib overalls from his company every year.

The company was founded in 1889 and remains a leader in the work clothing industry today.

Bib overalls history

posted by Hammel @ 12:20 PM

Carhartt bibs are the industry leader and many manufacturers have tried to match or beat their quality.

Bib overalls design dates back to the 19th century and the basic design has remained unchanged. At one point they were called “slops” and were worn by only the very poor. The fit was very loose and sloppy as to fit a variety of sizes of  people.  Nowadays the fit is custom. In two inch increments you can choose your pair, the color and wash of the fabric has options also, and finally you have a variety of choices for lined bibs as well… For something to have such a history ..it must be worth trying.
