During WW2 when the Rosie the riveters were filling vacancies in the factories… the men that went to war were dying every day. Wearing her denim overalls and doing what she could to do her part.
This is a poster that was circulated during that time. It really serves to remind us of the advances in technology that we fight with today. More posters were found and I will share those with you also.
This common form of transportation used true horse power! prior to the introduction of automobiles in the late 1800′s this was the most modern mode of transportation. Funny but true. Today when we see and admire a wagon such as this, it provokes much thought about how different things were in those days. Even farmers had to rely on horses to power the plows to work the fields. Century after century, changes and improvements were made “ bigger, better, faster!!” is the motto. Funny, but that doesn’t apply to the clothing that a farmer most likely would wear to get the work done. Bib overalls are pretty much the same today as they were over 100 years ago. Our appreciation of this history will never die.
Only certain people are cut out to be leaders. They are not afraid to be in charge and it comes natural to them.
I believe true leaders are born with that natural ability, it is not learned. Don’t get me wrong great leaders have to always keep learning but the natural leadership skill was already there.
Meet Mark, he is about as comfortable as anyone can get, even when the pressure is on. The ”hot seat” is where most leaders are tested. Mark is a thinker and because he is not impulsive on the job, he has earned the respect of many. And when things are not going as they should, he is not afraid to ” ruffle feathers”.
A great leader should have the knowledge and skills to do any job that he is overseeing. Today, too many college graduates get hired into positions of authority and have never physically done the particular job that they are now over seeing… What is wrong with that picture?.. but it happens. Good thing there are older, experienced laborers doing the work who don’t want to be the boss!!
Carhartt is a well respected work clothing manufacturer who knows what laborers want. From workers in bib overalls to the supervisor in casual looking denim and twill… and more.
When you think of Carhartt work clothing you think of insulated cold weather gear. Not So!
Where ever there is work to be done, no matter the temperature, Carhartt has the right work clothes and overalls. Decades of improving features and adding extras is what keeps Carhartt so popular with the working person. Today’s cargo shorts even have a cell phone pocket. Now that’s keeping with the times!
My previous post showed the freshly excavated hillside and here is our proposed 23 million dollar dream school. What a joy to think that a triple A school, whose graduating classes are under 100 students, will soon boast such a beautiful facility.
The junior high students who will attend here don’t have a grasp on what is coming! But they will! This project will require dozens of construction experts and the local Carhartt bib overall dealer has already made them aware of just how close they are to a store that specializes in quality work clothing. In the next two years of construction, I am certain that many of us will be watching closely so as to not miss a thing!
Pick a season, pick a tool ! That’s right, every season has work to do and tools to do it and for that matter a style of bib overalls that are just perfect for working in.
When the icicles are dripping you know lined bibs are your favorite and when sweat is dripping off your nose, and you are hoeing corn, some comfy unlined denim bibs are the ticket! Some ice cold water tastes so good in the heat of the summer… but no matter how hot it gets, this girl never wishes for winter!! Case closed!
This Carhartt bib overall clad, short fella will be grown before we know it!
He is watching the big boys work and play and learning so much everyday.. even some things we’d rather he not learn! Who determines the roads he will choose, the gifts he will have and the life he will lead? I do have that answer! Our heavenly Father has plans for this young man! Sit back, watch and enjoy as he learns something new everyday! I got a big chuckle recently when he learned the hard way WHY we don’t throw the hose down … as the water dripped off his nose.. I held back a huge laugh and explained once again this little lesson. If only life was as easy to explain!
Carhartt Clothing, a manufacturer of bib overalls and men’s work clothes has done it again! The ladies can’t complain about this new shade. Raspberry jackets and vests, made with same durable construction as all of their products but oh so pretty in pink…. raspberry pink to be exact. We girls have always loved Carhartt products too, but never have we had such a pretty color to choose from. This jacket and vest are lined with sherpa and we even have cute knit hats to go with them. What fun…. It ALMOST …… Almost …. makes me want cold weather…..NOT!!!
If your job requires you to function outdoors regardless of the weather, then chances are you have or need a rain suit. I recently realized that all rain gear is not created equal. The rubbery yellow coat that you wore as a child, will not do! Just dress yourself in a water proof , air tight rubber coat and try to work… you will quickly see how wet you get from the inside out!! The non- breathable rubbery coat will make you sweat and defeat the whole purpose.
I found that my waterproof , breathable, mesh lined rain coat from Carhartt is great! Last fall, I wore a heavy sweatshirt under my coat and stayed dry and warm at a football game on a 35 degree day sitting on metal bleachers in the pouring rain! It made me a believer in Carhartt!
The year was 1889 and Hamilton had visions and goals. At only 34 years of age he was determined to set a standard of excellence to which all others would aspire. With his humble beginnings of 4 sewing machines and 5 employees to seven factories in the 1940′s, Hamilton’s life was filled realizing his dreams.
During his 48 year career of
Carhartt clothing manufacturing, Hamilton Carhartt never let down on his original goal of setting the bar high. After his death in 1937, the business continued under the active leadership of his son Wylie.
By 1989 Carhartt celebrates 100 years in business and boasts a 4 generation span that can only be achieved if you have an outstanding product. At the end of the day, a company with a great history, making great products.
