Carhartt Kid-Kitty Cuddle

Say that title 3 times fast!! Gotcha! One of the best things about Carhartt is that you can rely on the products to be durable, wash after wash after wash. Kitten claws are not gonna go through this kids sweatshirt very easily… lucky him! Now why is that important information you ask? Because if you are wearing a Carhartt garment out in the woods where briar’s are, you have good protection. The best protection comes from Carhartts duck material which they are famous for. Duck bib overalls are, by far, the most popular item in the line. For protection and ease of movement you can’t go wrong in a set of Carhartts.

Carhartt has been at it for 120 years and they never cease in their efforts to remain the leader in the industry of work clothing manufacturing. Pleated elbows and bi-swing backs are features that add to ease of movement and comfort.

Industry standards are in place to protect workers from hazards on the job. Carhartt meets and exceeds these standards on every garment they make. Rest assured Carhartt has you covered.

Traveling Clydesdales

The show looks fancy and it is, but behind the scenes are poop-er scoopers in bib overalls and main braiders in t-shirts and jeans and lots of people getting dirty for these beautiful giants. In the end they still have that distinctive horse smell.. just like the real work horses 50 years ago.

There are eight horses on each team, but ten horses travel to provide alternates for the hitch as needed. Professional handlers accompany each team. Often, one handler has night duty to provide round-the-clock care for the horses. Transportation for each hitch requires three 50-foot semis. Two carry the horses, the third transports a red, white and gold beer wagon and other equipment.  The horses’ comfort is enhanced with air-cushion suspension and thick rubber flooring, and cameras in the trailers enable the drivers to watch the horses during transport. The team stops each night at local stables.
Two obedience-trained Dalmatian dogs also travel with each hitch, a Budweiser tradition since the 1950s. Historically, the role of the dogs was to guard the wagon and protect the team while the driver went inside buildings to make deliveries.

Summertime work on the farm

Living on a farm means work year-round. The jobs that need done change with the seasons and so does the type of work clothing, but one thing that is seen year round are bib overalls. Summertime work can be hot and dusty like putting up hay or harvesting other crops and that is when a light weight pair of denim bibs is exactly what most farmers wear. They don’t restrict your movement or bind around the waist, and the best part is that they are cooler than jeans.

Equally important are the lined bibs for winter. Protection and warmth while feeding the animals hay and grain that you harvested 6 short months prior.. before we know it spring comes and we are back to sowing seed.

The picture evokes a peaceful calm feeling, but in fact, farming  is some of the hardest work around. Thank God for farmers!

Inspectors paid to pay attention to detail.

After 25 years in the business of  brick inspecting , Mark has worked better than half of his life taking notice of details in his work. This habit carries over to his personal life also. While speaking with Mark about Carhartt brand clothing and their reputation, I was pleasantly surprised at his views on the products.  He says that “You get what you pay for and if you want good quality you can’t be cheap. Quality products, or services in his line of work, will cost a  bit more but in the long run are well worth the extra money spent.

The right tools for the job.

You have heard the saying.” It helps to have the right tools for the job.” Never has there been a more accurate statement. The project pictured here is a new high school in rural, hilly, WV. When completed it will appear to be somewhat built into the side of a small mountain.

Site preparation has been a long process and the transformation is near completion. Students can observe the progress daily, as it is on the way to the current facility.

These pieces of heavy equipment are right for this job. Some of the workers operating these machines are wearing Carhartt bib overalls. Carhartt clothing is a great choice because of it’s durable nature.

Mark has been a bricklayer for over 25 years and has been a supervisor on industrial jobs  and over the years he says he has observed hundreds of men wearing the Carhartt label.

Jerall works for Dawson Geophysical, Inc.  His company acquires and analyzes 3-d seismic data used in determining whether subsurface geologic conditions appear favorable for the accumulation of oil and natural gas.

When asked why he chooses Carhartt clothing, Jerall says “It’s the Best!” He wears Carhartt both on and off the job and some of his favorites are beanies, sweatshirts and t-shirts.

In closing this interview Jerall wanted to add ” Go Longhorns”  and for me to be sure to inform everyone that the camera adds 10# !”

This is Lisa H. from Pleasant Valley WV. Lisa has worn Carhartt  for over 30 years! As a young girl she worked in  an arctic lined traditional coat at her family’s General Store and Exxon station. Over the years her family sold some Carhartt clothing in the General Store and by 1996 she felt Carhartt was popular enough to start a seperate business, selling only Carhartt.

Today, Lisa’s business is in ”The Old General Store” and she enjoys telling her customers about the history of her building dating back to 1882. Lisa H. has seen allot of changes to the Carhartt company over the years, with new products, styles and colors but she says “Carhartt is a great company to work with, they make quality products and if there is a problem they stand behind their products”
